In the film "Goudvink," we meet Yaël and Idris, two non-binary people of color in their twenties, who in their turbulent and social lives surprise and overwhelm each other with the words "I love you". This single sentence puts their relationship, as two seekers, on edge. It creates doubt and uncertainty for both Yaël and Idris. We follow these young adults through a period that is universally recognizable for everyone. At the same time, "Goudvink" offers a new perspective. We move away from the queer stereotypes that we know from the media. Instead, we let the viewer in on the humanity of Yaël and Idris.
